Our Program~ Tailored Especially for Each Child
Family Harmony The first tenet of our program at Fountaingate Children’s Home is to provide a Godly home environment for the children. Our house parents are dedicated Christian couples who love children and are committed to nurturing and training each child in the "fruit of the Spirit"...love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. We love each child unconditionally. Most importantly, our families go through each day as a Godly family unit, not as an institution. We pray for the child’s family as well.
Educational Our children attend public schools or our local Christian school. Many of our children come to us behind in school so we spend extra hours assisting them with their homework and assignments. We transport the children each morning and afternoon to his or her respective school. Our houseparents work closely with the school staff to ensure smooth transition and proper communication of each child’s exceptionalities.
Counseling Many of our children come to us with behavioral, emotional, and social problems. Our network of support includes a local Christian counseling center. Individual and family have proved beneficial in many cases. Parent(s) are responsible for premiums or insurance payments. Houseparents document progress daily for review by parents and counselors.
Spiritual Our children attend church with each family. We respect the individual religious beliefs of each child. We will be sure that each is able to attend services based on direction by his or her parent(s). They have opportunity to be involved in the children’s ministries to include children’s church, camps, and other church-wide activities. Each Fountaingate home has daily devotions as a family, typically as a part of the evening routine.
Physical Fitness Our families work and play together. Our aim is to let the children play outside as much as practical. The children love riding bikes, throwing the football or baseball, playing basketball on our outdoor court, or just playing in our playground. We supervise all activities to ensure safety and good sportsmanship. Our house "dads" love coaching the children and watching them grow in confidence and stature.
Diet Our house "moms" love to cook and we always are blessed with delicious meals and plenty. The meals are planned for proper, well balanced nurishment while always remaining "kid friendly!"
Work Ethic We play and work as a family...our staff takes the lead showing the children that serving others is very rewarding and even fun!!!
