Instruction Manual
1.Start a HOME Team by reviewing this site and taking the initiative to gather your team
2.Contact Ed Hazlett via email at FountaingateHome@aol.com as you start and during the process for assistance and questions.
3.Advocate the HOME Team Project with co-workers, friends, or unit members~remember, this is a voluntary program. Ensure each person visits this site and this page.
4.Set up and hold a meeting to discuss your own HOME Team Goals
5.Choose an orphan from the Orphan Biographies page
6.Generate a HOME Team name (Baja’s Best, for example.) Take a group photo & send it to us by email
7.Choose a HOME Team Captain and assistant: Communicates and directs actions
8.Choose a HOME Team Gift-in-Kind coordinator: collects gifts/immediate needs for delivery to FGCH
9.Choose a HOME Team Treasurer: collects and tracks monies for Health Needs/Education Fund
10.Determine process for giving...gifts and monetary donations. Note: Gifts/immediate need items may be delivered to FGCH’s office in town by calling 575-491-4846. Monies should be collected and brought to Western Bank for deposit ONCE MONTHLY. Call & arrange to meet Ed or Al at the bank. If you are not local, teams would collect monies and mail a check or money order to our address: PO Box 643 Alamogordo, NM 88311. Another option would be for one person in the group to collect monies and translate these into a donation via PayPal (see links above.) Gift-in-kind donations and presents may be mailed or sent FedEx/UPS/USPS to the address above.
11.Write a Greeting Letter to your child. Include a picture of your group
12.Set goals & make assignments
a.How often to send letters & pictures to your child
b.Search for (or buy) immediate needs of the child
c.How much each is willing to donate to Health Needs and Long Term Education Fund (recommendation is for each to give $10 to $30 or more each month based on each person’s ability)
d.Conduct fund raisers ideas for your child (example: bake sales, garage sales, etc.)
12.Letters and gifts from the child will be given to the HOME Team Captain for dissemination to the team
13.Set next meeting time/place OR each person’s best form of communication
14.Hold routine meetings to share ideas and keep the plan going to meet your team’s goals
15.HOME Team Captain monitors progress, reviews donation data, and email the data at the end of each month to FountaingateHome@aol.com for review by the Rotary Club of Alamogordo Special Projects Committee ~ our accountability umbrella
16.Add new members to your team to maintain dedicated HOME Team members knowing some will move on, PCS, or have other priorities
17.Encourage the formation of additional HOME Teams once the group reaches approximately 20 members
